Up on the Roof
by Karen Melton The Fallser Newspaer
Chuck Keller and Kevin Creighton have worked in roofing for the past 30 years. Chuck, who grew up on Tilden Street, is sure he has worked on houses in every block of East Falls from Conrad to Wissahickon and Queen Lane to School House. Kevin tells a similar story about Haddonfield, NJ where he is well known.
Their company, Excel Roofing, byline is “Excellent Quality, Affordable Price”. This is the approach they bring to the market. Both partners have 30 years of experience with all types of roofs ranging from shingle to tile to slate. And while they can point to many complex restoration projects and work on historically significant buildings, they also welcome the bread and butter business of jobs repairing roofs, carpentry and chimneys. They also install siding, trim and windows.
Additionally, they are experienced with the various types of gutter systems that can be of gutter systems that can be found in our neighborhood such as pole gutters and shelf gutters which are integrated into the roofs, and the more familiar half-round and K-Style gutters.
You may be surprised to learn that some roofers operate without a license or proper insurance. As Chuck explains it, people often find themselves having to choose between discount roofers who don’t have a track record and premium priced companies which do.
Homeowners typically do not have much knowledge about roofing, so it is difficult for them to evaluate estimates that can vary widely.
Chuck and Kevin want Fallsers to know they approach every job they do with the expectation of having a long-term relationship of trust and confidence with each homeowner they serve.
That means getting the job done right--at an affordable price.
